Unlike the conventional cast and costumes, Timeless Ramayana was performed as in full Barathanatyam repertoire; dancing in praise of Lord Rama by emphasising on the nuances of facial expressions and the intricacies of footwork. The main storyline in Ramayana was performed in Natya Dharmi. Lord Rama, the human incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is the immortal and eternal celestial being as well as the repository of all virtues.
In conjunction with TKI’s 35th Anniversary, this production; featuring a cast made up of children between the ages of 5 and 13. The objective to cast only children; was mainly to develop confidence amongst young talents as well as to teach human values by encouraging them to participate in dance dramas with a storyline familiar to them.
