Dating back to 553 BCE, Prince Siddhartha Gautama was born in the Kingdom of Kapilavasthu to King Chakiya and Queen Mayathevi. He grew up in the Palace, but at the age of 16, He decides to leave the Palace to become a sage as He found this world to be full of sufferings. Spending His time in meditation and educating people on moral values, Siddhartha’s mission was only to uplift people spiritually and to help them to transcend to higher realms through self-realizations. This dance drama portrays stories of His encounters with humans facing problems thus, helping them find solutions by teaching them values of life. Prince Siddhartha Gautama found an understanding to end suffering. He introduced the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path; thus earning a new title, the Buddha, which means “Awakened One”. Finally, He attains Moksha under the Bodhi tree.
