Lord Shiva is in deep meditation in Kailayam; not aware of his surroundings and the presence of Goddess Gowri. The Energy emanating from His meditation becomes uncontrollable hence; Devas and sages insist Indiran to send Manmathan to shoot an arrow to make Lord Shiva come out from the severe meditation. The reluctant Manmathan shoots the arrow and awakens Lord Shiva from meditation. Lord Shiva becomes furious, does the Uthira Thandavam, and burns Manmathan to ashes with His third eye. On seeing this, the screaming Rathi begs to Lord Shiva for forgiveness and asks Him to restore the life of Manmathan. Touched by her devotion, Lord Shiva restores Manmathan back to life. Hearing about Manmathan’s phenomenon, Goddess Gowri expresses wonder at the deeds performed by Lord Shiva. She yearns to meet Lord Shiva and performs severe penance. Lord Shiva disguises himself as a young Brahmachari and asks for some food from Gowri while teasing Shiva in a disgraceful manner. The angry Gowri, shouts at Him and asks Him to leave. As Her anger grews wild, Lord Shiva shows Himself in his true form. Goddess Gowri becomes amazed and truly joyful as for her wish has come true. They both reunite and do the Anantha Thandavam and give blessings to all.
